Lucas Oil Products is seeking a Broadcast Engineer in Charge to oversee and manage all aspectsLucas Oil Products is seeking a Broadcast Engineer in Charge to oversee and manage all aspects surrounding the set-up, testing and successful operation of the broadcast-transmission equipment necessary to facilitate the broadcast of live and pre-recorded events This role sits within our StudioProduction team, who is responsible for capturing and producing xxxx of motorsports content a year.

As a Broadcast EIC at Lucas Oil, you will:

  • Represent a premium national brand
  • Oversee and manage all aspects surrounding the set-up, testing and successful operation of the broadcast-transmission equipment necessary to facilitate the broadcast of live and pre-recorded events from remote locations
  • Oversee the routing and testing of transmission paths between track and production facility, ensuring paths are operational and configured appropriately
  • Manage the maintenance of remote broadcasting equipment; use expertise to perform in-depth troubleshooting and on-the-spot repairs; manage interactions with vendors when external repair services are necessary
  • Manage intercom and router configurations and implement changes as needed; deploy and test Tally GPI closures
  • Manage records and other digital signals as needed
  • Collaborate with broadcast partners and vendors to obtain and distribute audio/video and data feeds; develop and continually review and update processes to maximize efficiency for all stakeholders
  • Manage the truck inventory to get the best results during a production
  • Repair, calibrate, and test electronic equipment at the component level as delegated by the Chief Engineer
  • Repair, configure, and maintain various computer and networking equipment used in broadcasting operations
  • Assist with equipment installations and faxing of mobile units.
  • Build, repair and test intercom equipment
  • Program and repair 2-way radio equipment
  • Provide technical assistance and leadership to the mobile unit engineer apprentices.
  • Document faults and problems with equipment and make proper orders for repairs.
  • Maintain a short turnaround and a high degree of accuracy in testing, calibrating and repairs Equipment
  • Contribute to the organization of the Field Shop and facilitate an efficient working environment for Field Shop personnel

 

Required qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience working in the Broadcast Television industry
  • Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production and familiar with all studio production equipment including Broadcast Audio, Video and Control Systems, Video Servers, Storage Area Networks, & RF Systems, Editing and Post Production Systems, etc.
  • Ability to function well under pressure, i.e. during live broadcasts
  • Experience working with freelancers
  • Good communication skills and a proven self-starter
  • Able to multitask, has strong attention to details and able to meet deadlines
  • Able to solve practical problems and be a team player
  • Up to 40% travel will be required
