Broadcast Traffic Coordinator

Pricing and Planning Manager

Our company is seeking a detail-oriented Traffic Coordinator for our television network to assist with the daily preparation and maintenance of on-air logs, utilizing meticulous management of commercial inventory and promotional assets to maximize network revenue. Success in this position is measured by accuracy. Attention to detail, a track record of dependability, organizational skills and excellent communication skills are required for this position. This person will be required to work from our office in Corona, California. 

As a Traffic Coordinator, you will:

  • Represent a growing television network
  • Proactively manage commercial inventory to maximize revenue and campaign accuracy
  • Input Direct Response and General Market orders in accordance with sales orders
  • Schedule commercials, promos and other on-air assets
  • Responsible for managing the delivery of internal assets, including graphics and on-air promos
  • Ensure all materials are received, downloaded and processed correctly by deadlines
  • Provide comprehensive customer service and support to internal sales team, clients and agencies
  • Secure and accurately input traffic instructions
  • Manage revisions and missing instructions for assigned advertisers and communicate with the sales department and/or clients regarding the status of any issues
  • Coordinate with other departments to solve logistical problems in coordination of on-air promotions and placements
  • Work with Pricing and Planning Manager to appropriately assess and schedule
  • Make goods as needed
  • Work with Accounting to process credits or other account adjustments when necessary
  • Manage storage of commercials and purge spots weekly based on expiration dates and client requests
  • Assist in the preparation of post logs and other reporting
  • Create and schedule advertiser sponsorship elements (block IDs, lower 3rds, etc)
  • Must be available by phone or email on nights, weekends and holidays on occasion
  • Assist programming department as needed


Required qualifications:

  • A four-year college degree or equivalent experience in broadcast industry or other related field
  • 2+ years broadcast traffic experience
  • General knowledge of the broadcast television advertising process
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Able to communicate effectively and tactfully with internal and external clients, affiliates, managers and coworkers
  • Able to multitask, has strong attention to details and able to meet deadlines
  • Committed to continuous learning and improvement
  • Able to solve practical problems
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and multi-task

Bonus qualifications:

  • Experience with Broadview or Wide Orbit platforms
  • Experience working with a television network
  • Familiarity with Google G-Suite and Project Management software, including Redbooth
