Arana Jr. Claims Third Consecutive Semi-Final Finish in Virginia

Hector Arana Jr 6 8 2018

Dinwiddie, Virginia (June 10, 2018) – After showing tremendous speed all weekend, Team Arana would wrap up their NHRA Virginia Nationals with their third straight semi-final finish in a row.

Hector Arana Jr. would put the Lucas Oil Racing TV EBR on the pole and began eliminations with wins over Kelly Clontz and Angie Smith while setting low elapsed time in both rounds as well as top speed of the meet. He would then face LE Tonglet in the semi-final but would fall just short, ending his Sunday one round earlier than planned. "The conditions were tricky today with the rain showers and temperature changes," said Arana Jr. "In the last round the track temperature was almost ten degrees hotter than the run before so we got caught out a little trying to keep up with the conditions. But it was still a good weekend for the Lucas Oil Racing TV EBR." With his result, Arana Jr. moves up two spots in the standings and currently holds the fifth position after five rounds.

Teammate Hector Arana Sr. would come into raceday with a tough opening round matchup with Andrew Hines. Despite running his fastest pass of the weekend, Sr. would end his day with a first-round finish. "It's tough going out so early but I'm proud of the team for battling all weekend," said the elder Arana. "Jr. has been running strong all season and we've been working to try to match their pace. We were behind the eight-ball a bit all weekend but we were able to make some progress today. We'll take what we learned and head to Norwalk."

After back-to-back weekends, the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class will get one weekend off before returning to action on June 21-24 in Norwalk, Ohio for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. For tickets and information, visit or visit
