Movie Maker/Actor Ali Afshar Re-Visits his Racing Roots

190123 ESX Ali AfsharCORONA, CA (January 23, 2019) - Producer, Ali Afshar’s ESX Motorsports & Entertainment (Home of the Worlds Quickest and Fastest Subarus') is proud to announce an expanded sponsorship with Lucas Oil Products in 2019.

The Lucas Oil/ESX team will will kick off their season, racing an 1800 Horsepower Twin Turbo Subaru BRZ at the Import Face Off (IFO) Drag Race Series, co-sponsored by Subaru of Glendale, at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA. on January 27th.

Tom Bogner, Director of Motorsports for Lucas Oil Products commented “We’re proud to have Ali and his ESX team help us raise our brand awareness in the highly competitive import drag racing IFO series. We feel our products are perfect for applications across the wide range of vehicles in the import scene”.

With Afshar at the wheel, ESX Motorsports is an 18 Time NHRA Team Championship winner and a 2-Time World Champion in the NHRA Sport Compact Racing Series.

Movie producer, actor, race car driver and former high school wrestling standout, Afshar's ESX Entertainment is based on the Warner Bros lot. These days he is best known for producing a slate of movies for his ESX Productions and the newly formed Forrest Films – co-productions with Lucas Oil Founder, Forrest Lucas. Other Lucas owned properties include the MAVTV Motorsports Network, Lucas Oil Speedway, and the naming rights to the Lucas Oil Stadium - home of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.

The 2019 the Forrest Films slate will include "RIDE" starring rapper/actor Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges; plus action/drama, "Bennett’s War;" romantic drama "Roped;" sports themed "American Fighter" and "Lady Driver;" plus thriller "The Stand at Paxton County;" and "Wheels of Fortune."
