Hector Arana Jr.

Las Vegas, NV (April 9, 2019) - Hector Arana Jr. would pick up his first win of 2019 as he out ran the Pro Stock Motorcycle field to win the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Arana came into eliminations as the #2 qualifier and would meet Matt Smith, Eddie Krawiec and Andrew Hines in a stacked final round matchup. With a stellar 0.014 light, Arana Jr. would lead wire-to-wire as his winning pass of 6.907 seconds at 195.79 mph would seal the holeshot win. The victory was the 15th of his career and moves him into 2nd place in the standings, just 3 points out of the lead.

An ecstatic Arana Jr. was overcome with emotion after the win. "You don't know when your next Wally is going to be so you can never take a win for granted and you have to take every race as they come," said Arana Jr. "But I love this Lucas Oil Motorcycle Oil EBR! This bike is bad to the bone and we proved it today."

Teammate Hector Arana Sr. would also enjoy a successful day, qualifying a strong 7th in his Lucas Oil Motorcycle Oil EBR and advancing to the Semi-Final round before bowing out of eliminations. With the result, Arana Sr. moves up to the 9th position in points.

The next event for the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class will be on April 26-28 for the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, North Carolina. For tickets and information, visit NHRA.com or visit charlottemotorspeedway.com.
