Lucas Oil’s Iconic Paint Scheme Returns to RCR’s No. 8 Chevrolet for the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (Oct 1, 2024) – Lucas Oil, a 10-year partner of both Richard Childress Racing and ECR Engines, is back as primary sponsor of the No. 8 Chevrolet driven by two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch for the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, Oct. 6. This marks the third time in 2024 of Lucas Oil’s multi-race primary sponsorship of the No. 8 Chevrolet. With just six races left on the schedule, Busch looks to take the race-winning Lucas Oil paint scheme to victory lane at NASCAR’s historic superspeedway.

“Talladega is one of the fastest and most challenging tracks on the schedule, and we are thrilled to be back as Kyle’s primary sponsor as he battles on the high banks of this legendary track,” said Lucas Oil Director of Partnership Marketing Brandon Bernstein. “Kyle puts his heart and soul into every race, which is why it is an honor to have the Lucas Oil colors back on his No. 8 Chevrolet. RCR and ECR Engines are amazing to work with, and we know Lucas Oil will give Kyle and his team what he needs to win.”

Since 2014, Lucas Oil has been the official lubricant and motor oil of RCR and ECR Engines. The partnership between these highly respected organizations has resulted in the development of the best performing engine oils and lubricants in the world. Between 2014 and 2024, Lucas Oil and ECR Engines have recorded 155 wins, including nine victories this season.

“This entire season, Lucas Oil has given us the quality and performance needed to run up front and win, and that is why we are thrilled to have them back as the primary sponsor of the No. 8 Chevrolet at Talladega,” said RCR President Torrey Galida. “Superspeedways require an exceptional engine oil capable of performing well under very extreme conditions, and that is Lucas Oil. This partnership has been a big part of our success, and we are proud to have the highly respected brand back on Kyle’s car for this exciting race.”

In addition to the partnership with RCR and ECR Engines, Lucas Oil also serves as the Official Oil for Kyle and Brexton Busch’s grassroots races. Throughout the year, both Kyle and Brexton have relied on Lucas Oil’s race oils and lubricants as they have competed in more than 100 races, earning numerous wins. Kyle represents Lucas Oil with a full-car wrap and race suit. Lucas Oil is the official lubricant sponsor for all of Brexton’s team. This year, Brexton has a remarkable 39 wins, 89 top-5 finishes and 105 top-10 finishes. Brexton is a third-generation driver and has been racing since he was five years old.

Lucas Oil and RCR’s 10-year partnership has produced amazing results on the track, because of the hard work done back at the garage. Feedback provided by RCR and ECR Engines has helped Lucas Oil scientists and technicians continue refining lubricants that deliver results. These efforts have helped create an engine oil that combines performance and protection to allow engineers to get the most power out of every engine. Simulators and real-world racing scenarios provide valuable information for Lucas Oil to continue making improvements.
