Lucas Hot Rod & Classic Car Motor Oil SAE 10W-40 is manufactured with the highest quality paraffinic base oils and is fortified with a unique additive package containing high levels of zinc, molybdenum and phosphorus, which provides a tougher, thicker additive film for maximum protection even under the most severe conditions. It lowers oil temperatures, extends oil life and minimizes metal fatigue. It improves the film strength between the cylinder wall and piston rings and slows oil burning and improves pressure in worn engines. It has good cold temperature properties and stands up to high operating temperatures. It is compatible with methanol and all racing fuels, as well as with synthetic and non-synthetic oils.

Lucas Hot Rod & Classic Car Motor Oil SAE 10W-40 is for muscle, showroom, classic and trophy cars without catalytic converters. It can be used in racing applications. Not recommended for passenger car use.

Available in convenient 5 quart bottles, the formulation is perfect for the Hot Rod and Classic Car crowd with an increased zinc value of 2100 PPM. Because many of these very special machines often spend long periods off the roads, a number of the components of the additive package used in Lucas' Marine oils to provide rust and corrosion protection have been included in its unique formula.

Kirk Swanson from K&N Engineering saves money and avoids engine failure with Lucas Racing Only Motor Oil.

Just wanted to send you a note to tell you about our engine. My Son Cody and I took it down to VanDyne Engineering last night for a scheduled service. Tres and Stewart pulled it apart while we were there so that we would have an idea of what it needs. We have all of last season and 5 races this season on it.

It was impressive to see how everything looked GREAT! Tres was worried about the cam shaft as they have seen some failures lately but ours was perfect. The bearings and crank shaft look perfect as well! This is a BIG help to our racing budget!

Here are our specs on the motor: 165CI VanDyne Chevrolet with an 18* BRODIX cylinder head, CROWER crank shaft, JE pistons 15.0 to 1 compression, VANDYNE/ISKY camshaft.
Runs on methanol fuel and makes well more than 300 horsepower.
The engine is for our USAC Western States / VRA midget that is driven by my son, 2010 USAC Western States Rookie of the Year Cody Swanson.


As it turns out, we are just going to replace the valves and valve springs and put it back in the car and be ready for our next race on the 25th at Ventura.
